About Tinder

Tinder is the world's most downloaded dating app, pioneering swipe-based matching. With over 75 million active users globally, it offers a fast-paced way to discover potential matches. The app uses location-based technology and lets you swipe right to like or left to pass. A mutual right swipe creates a match, allowing you to start chatting. Tinder Gold and Platinum subscriptions unlock features like seeing who liked you, unlimited likes, and Boost.

7.5/ 10

Tinder is the world's most downloaded dating app and the go-to platform for casual dating and quick connections. Its enormous user base gives you the best odds of finding someone nearby, though the experience degrades significantly without a paid plan.

Positives

  • Largest user base globally — more matches than any competitor
  • Simple swipe interface that anyone can pick up instantly
  • Works in virtually every country in the world
  • Passport feature lets you match in other cities before you travel

Negatives

  • Free tier is severely limited — only a handful of likes per day
  • Heavily skewed toward superficial, appearance-based matching
  • Fake profiles and bots are a persistent problem
  • Premium plans are expensive and features feel paywalled aggressively

Pricing

💳 Tinder Plus from €10.99/month · Tinder Gold from €20.99/month · Tinder Platinum from €27.99/month. Prices vary by age and region — under-28s often pay significantly less.

🆓 Free tier: Free users get ~100 right swipes per 12 hours, unlimited left swipes, and can message all mutual matches. You cannot see who liked you without Gold.

Mostly positive experience

Tinder is the world's most downloaded dating app and the go-to platform for casual dating and quick connections. Its enormous user base gives you the best odds of finding someone nearby, though the experience degrades significantly without a paid plan. What I liked most was largest user base globally — more matches than any competitor. Main gripe: free tier is severely limited — only a handful of likes per day. Worth knowing: free users get ~100 right swipes per 12 hours, unlimited left swipes, and can message all mutual matches. you cannot see who liked you without gold.
